Who runs Volt
Volt is run by Shuvam in India. For questions, or to see, correct or delete anything about you, write to hello@volt.example. Updated 1 November 2026.
What Volt collects, and why
Volt needs no login and keeps no account. It uses what is listed here to run, to count use, to stop spam and to improve charger data.
- Your location
- Only when you tap "Use my location" or "Get directions". It goes once to Volt's server to find the nearest town, and is not stored.
- Visits, with your OK
- Google Analytics sets cookies and keeps a visitor identifier: pages seen, device type and a rough location (city). Google holds it under its own policy. Say no below and nothing is sent.
- Visits, always
- Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights count pages and loading speed. No cookies; a scrambled code of your connection that changes daily, and only totals are kept.
- Reports you send
- What you tap and type about a charger, with a scrambled code of your connection kept for 24 hours to stop spam. No name, no login.
- The map
- Loading the map fetches tiles from OpenFreeMap, which sees your IP address as any website does.
- Google Maps links
- Tapping "Get directions" or "Google Maps" opens Google Maps under Google's terms.
Your choices and rights
You have not chosen yet.
You can ask what Volt holds about you and have it corrected or erased. Nothing Volt keeps carries your name, so say what you sent and when. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act you can also take a complaint to the Data Protection Board of India. Volt is not meant for anyone under 18, builds no profiles and shows no ads.
Using Volt
Volt is free and offered as it is. Charger details come from open sources and from drivers, and can be wrong or out of date; Volt never claims a charger is free or working right now. Check the network's app before you go. Volt is not liable for a wasted trip or a charge that did not happen.
